McCracken County Fiscal Court in Paducah, KY is seeking qualified candidates for the Planner II position. The Planner II administers zoning regulations, reviews construction and development proposals, and issues permits. The department also assists the public, monitors zoning regulations, and collaborates with local jurisdictions on amendments. This position reports to the Planning and Community Development Manager.

This position is great for learning the processes of a planning department and gaining experience in an office setting. Hours are typically 8 a.m. To 4 p.m. with an hour paid lunch and, as such, is especially convenient for anyone taking evening classes.
DUTIES: Answers phones, greets visitors, and provides assistance related to building codes and zoning ordinances. Reviews building permits and docket applications for public hearings. Facilitates public hearings by preparing docket files, notice letters, address lists, member packets, and posting signage. Performs a variety of clerical duties supporting the planner and the building director. Attends monthly Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals meetings (after normal work hours) and prepares the official copy of minutes.
