This position will report to the Director and Assistant Director of the Planning & Zoning Department and will be responsible for:

1. Managing the Anderson Township Greenspace program.
2. Directing tree management activities on Township-owned, non-Greenspace property.
3. Collaborating with multiple stakeholders on the environmental impact of land use decisions, including  Anderson Township departments, elected officials and other government/non-profit agencies.
4. Creating and presenting environmental education and community outreach initiatives.
5. Other duties as assigned.

Applicants must have a thorough understanding of local natural resource management and land use best practices and principles, a working knowledge of computer hardware/software programs including Microsoft Office, geographic information systems, Adobe products and web-based applications and be familiar with data collection, analysis and reporting methodologies.  Candidates must also be able to read and understand information represented on plans, drawings, property surveys and maps and communicate complex information in writing as well as through in-person interactions.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in environmental/natural science, urban planning, geography or similar programs and at least two years of experience in planning, natural resource/land management or related field are required. Applicants must hold a valid, state-issued driver’s license and be physically capable of walking on uneven outdoor terrain in all weather conditions.

Starting pay rate of $24.00/hour or higher, depending on qualifications. ​The Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Planning Commission is seeking proposals from qualified consultants or firms to conduct a Comprehensive Housing Study to analyze the current state of housing within Woodford County’s two Urban Service Boundaries and provide strategies to address identified short and long-term housing needs in these areas. The Housing Study will help planning commissioners, decision makers, stakeholders, and community members develop a meaningful sense of the housing market as well as understanding of key housing issues impacting Versailles, Midway and Woodford County. The study will provide essential data, analysis, and insights that will support future planning and policy decisions related to housing development and affordability. This project aims to assess the current housing market dynamics, identify trends, and forecast future housing needs for various demographic groups in the area.

The Housing Authority of Covington, as part of its mission to create better neighborhoods by innovatively providing diverse housing opportunities for individuals and families in partnership with the greater community, is seeking proposals from qualified not-for-profit or for-profit housing developers for the redevelopment of the former City Heights public housing project. The objectives are to find a qualified development firm (or team) to:

• Purchase the former City Heights public housing project “as is” and prepare the site for redevelopment
• Redevelop the site into a cohesive, walkable neighborhood comprised of a mix of residential types that builds community among its residents and the adjacent neighborhoods
• Optimize the proceeds it receives from the sale to improve its other housing sites
• Preserve as much as possible the unique character of the site, including the mature tree canopy, the grades, and viewsheds toward the Ohio and Licking Rivers
