Georgetown-Scott County Planning Commission is seeking a professional planner (I, II, or III DOE) who will perform a variety of administrative and technical work oriented to current, long range and/or community planning. This team member’s work will include research, analysis, plan/report preparation, and work with committees and the public, in a supportive role to the Director of Development Services. Education: Bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration, or related field is preferred. Experience: Minimum one (1) year of professional planning experience, including internships, of a progressively responsible nature in a public or private planning agency is required. Salary range: Planner I - $40,000-$52,000/year depending on qualifications. Planner II – $45,000-$57,000/year depending on qualifications. Planner III - $60,000-$72,000/year depending on qualifications. The purpose of this position is to presents findings of planning and zoning projects at public meetings and hearings. Analyzes land use, demographic and economic information researched from maps and published sources. Prepares maps, recommendations and comprehensive reports on alternative strategies, impact of land use changes, and multi-modal transportation projects. Investigates and inspects properties, site plans, and study areas to identify planning issues and to assess potential solutions.
