Under the general direction of the Development Director, the person in this role analyzes and evaluates applications and site plans for permits, effectively maintains permit documents, serves as the primary Planning & Zoning staff representative to the Union Township Board of Zoning Appeals, and assists in updating the Township Comprehensive Plan, and Planning & Zoning department processes.

Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD), a multi-jurisdictional, planning and development agency, is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to serve as GIS Specialist. Position provides direct support and coordination within the Community & Economic Development department. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), engineering, planning, geography, or geology. Planning, mapping, or engineering experience preferred. Relevant software certifications or up to 2 years of practical experience may be substituted for relevant education.
Areas of work concentration include producing accurate and expedient maps, graphics, datasets, narratives, reports, etc. in support of a variety of projects that involve land use, transportation, utilities, economic, hazards, or other programs that LTADD may be engaged in.
