Somerset is a city of approximately 15 square miles. It is the county seat of Pulaski County and is located approximately 75 miles due south of Lexington and 35 miles north of the Kentucky-Tennessee Border.  Somerset in the county seat of Pulaski County.    Somerset has 2020 census population of just under 12,000 people. ​The City of Maysville and Mason County Fiscal Court, on behalf of the Maysville/Mason County Joint Planning Commission (Commission), are seeking proposals from companies, individuals, and non-profits for their five-year Comprehensive Plan update process.  The Commission needs to do a thorough update to the Comprehensive Plan, and would like an experienced individual or organization to guide them beginning in September 2022, with a finished product within 10-12 months.  Proposals are due Monday, August 1st, 2022 by 1pm.  Full details can be found here.
