Assistant Executive Director, Henderson City-County Planning Commission

The Henderson City-County Planning Commission and GIS, which serves a one-county Planning area with three governmental entities and a total population of 46,250, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Executive Director of the Planning Commission.

This position requires responsible administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the programs and activities of the Planning Commission. It requires leadership in advising the Planning Commission on policy formulation and implementation. The Assistant Executive Director is also responsible for assisting in the administration of the Planning Commission staff’s policies and programs and the general management of the organization.

Education & Experience. Preference will be given to those applicants that possess at a minimum: a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, or a related field with a minimum of three years of progressive experience in a Planning organization. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten years of experience in a Planning-related field is required. Two to three years of responsible supervisory and administrative experience is preferred, but not required. Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is required within two years of initial employment.
